Life Boat
How a century old boat and a new dream inspired an adventure of a lifetime.
“There are few positions more forlorn than standing naked in the sterile, stark, ceramic environs of a harbour shower room, while you witness your boat drifting in slow motion, to its end. This I know.”
Mark Harwood, Falmouth 2003
This is just one of Mark’s trials and tribulations. Never having sailed, with an inexperienced crew of one, (me), and a leaky, 100 year old Padstow lifeboat, (the ARAB II) he finds that there is a steep learning curve to adventures. With a mix of humour and at times peril. It is overall, a wonderful human interest story that is easy to read and a true account of an alternative way of going to sea.
We are sending our synopsis/book off to lots of publishers! Fingers crossed.
